Public Institution Kaunas Cultural Centre of Various Nations is a non-profit organisation established in 2004. Founder: The Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
The objectives of the organisation are to satisfy public interests by carrying out activities of public benefit in the fields of culture, science and education, and by providing services in these fields to members of the public; to create conditions for the knowledge of national cultures, the preservation of the distinctive character of national minorities, their cultural activities, and their artistic expression; to strive for a full-fledged integration of the minorities of the nationalities in the life of the city, to foster the people's national tolerance and the city's traditions of a multiracial city with many cultures.
The organisation initiates various cultural, artistic, heritage and interdisciplinary projects, organises cultural events: concerts, art exhibitions, evenings, poetry readings, presentations of culinary heritage and books etc. It also organises trainings and seminars for managers and leaders of national minority communities, active members of organisations and young people. The organisation invites researchers and specialists to scientific conferences, seminars and discussions on the history, activities, topical issues and problems of national communities, as well as integration processes. The administration of the organisation collects, organises and disseminates materials on national minorities, assists researchers, students and pupils in their research, prepares press releases and articles, and participates in television and radio programmes.
